Can you help me identify why this is?

    Found this in a box stored away with my great grandmothers belonging. Any idea what these may be?

    Not sure what your question is but... I see a glove box, a pin cushion and hat pins.

    Hello and welcome.
    Agree with what Debora identified.

    A larger picture positioned properly (many of us already have kinks in our necks - Don't need to make them worse)

    Looks a bit small for a glove box,the etsy link is 12 inches long and the OP's doesn't look more than 6-8.

    Welcome Andrew.
    The box looks like it is decorated with découpage, which was very popular in the 19th century. Découpage decorating is still being done, so we would have to see more photos to say anything about the age. The hatpins could be nice as well, so we're eagerly awaiting more photos.
    I thought it was a philosophical question, with the 'why'.;)

    Decoupage was a big craft craze when I was in my teens and twenties also, late 1970s, early 80s.
