    First post so be kind!

I've been doing some gardening and found this.. What is it? [IMG]. The item feels heavy and has two screws in the back. The material could possibly be brass?

    We live in Kent, UK.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Ben, Welcome to the board.
You need to make your photo a bit smaller. It is not showing up.

    Hi there.

Where shall I upload the image to to get the url link? I tried IMGUR but obviously that's too big. Is there any way to attach the image without uploading a link?

    Hi Ben,
Sorry to be such a pain, we would like to see the back of the item also. It might be a help to it's identity. Thanks,
    greg

Is it broken off on the one end? Also, want to see the back.

Hi and welcome! I think Brad's right it might help to see the back. It looks like an embellishment that you might find on furniture, fireplace screens etc. Any maker's marks?

    Hola, and welcome!
Has your gardening location always been a residential area, as far as you know? Or...?

Thank you for your kind welcomes.

Im not sure if the area has always been residential. Up until the 1920s it was all farmland round here. The houses date back to the 1930s.

Anyway I've attached an image of the back. Maybe the two screws give it away as to what it is.

I still think it is a vintage brass gate or fence finial
