Could you please show us more pictures? - The interior, the bottom, the lid and its interior, the back. I'm not sure what this is at this point. It does appear to be African in style, but there are so many copies of EVERYTHING to be discovered nowadays!

Despite the 'flaws' it looks rather new to me from this single angle, wherever it was made.

Your pot appears to be a type known as a "kuduo", made by craftsmen of the Asante/Ashanti people of Ghana. Such containers were traditionally made for royalty and high ranking individuals to hold gold dust and other valuables. The metal is usually brass, bronze, or a combination of both and was formed using a process known as "lost wax" casting. The technique is still used by Ghanaian craftsmen to make various objects for local use and for sale to tourists. I cannot say how old your kuduo is. There are so many of these "rare" objects available online that I suspect they are still being made.
