I got this box at a thrift Shop and it looks hand painted with what looks like 24k gold paint all over the trinket outlining the designs and it is raised. The only marking I see is at the bottom like a residue of either an M or a W . Anyways, I am hoping someone could help with identifying this peace if it is possible. Thank you in advance for all your help and Happy Holidays to you all!! zzzzzTRINKET (6).JPG

No, its not Cloisonné, it's Lacquerware, Oriental, yes.

It's modern Chinese cloisonné, NYCO made similar stuff about 20-25 years ago, but certainly could have been sold by other firms too...

I don't have a clue as to the difference, except that it looks different from the cloisonne that I'm used to seeing.....Here's what Google had to say:

"As nouns the difference between enamel and cloisonne is that
enamel is an opaque, glassy coating baked onto metal or ceramic objects while cloisonne is (metalwork|uncountable) a decorative technique for metalwork, especially brass, whereby colored enamel is baked between raised ridges of the metal."

It is twisted wire cloisonné. Here are some examples:

I'm with the others, fairly recent Chinese cloisonné enamel. The metal of your pretty box is gilt brass.
They switched to that twisted wire in the 1950s or 60s, if I remember correctly.

Lacquerware is of organic origin. It is not done in a cloisonné technique.
