Beautiful. Austrian silver, Vienna 1863, and 13 Lot.
13 Lot is .812 silver, so not sterling, which is .925.

Austria-Hungary. Solid silver but not "sterling" as in 925/1000 fineness. The 13 indicates "13 lothig" and A is for assay in Vienna.

    Sniped!

    You're welcome Steve.
I just noticed that the monogram is crowned, that means that it belonged to an aristocrat. There were many aristocrats in Vienna, mosty seeking a position at the imperial court.

Here in the Netherlands this particular model crown would be for a hereditary knight, but I don't know if that was the same in Austria. The German (and Austrian) word for knight is 'Ritter'.

Is there any way to find out who it belonged to

You would probably need an Austrian or even Viennese historian, who knows which 'Ritter' (pl) lived in or near Vienna in 1863, and can check if the initials match.

I was about to say - Austrian or German silver. Lovely piece!
