I looked all the pics over carefully and I think they are 17th C. Dutch cannons. I’ve owned some similar but mine were fully marked. I’d like to know why they think they are American. Bronze cannons weren’t cast in the Colonies until late 18th C., and I can’t say I’ve ever seen an American bronze cannon that had multiple steel chaplets around the breech like these. They don’t show very high-quality casting, there are many small holes and many circular bronze plugs used to cover up larger defects, which as I recall reading were drilled, threaded, and plugged. The famous Dutch founders, the Verbruggens, got in trouble for doing that on some cannons they made for the VOC.

So no way are they American. I think unless someone with lots of money is fooled into thinking they are American, they won’t bring near the high estimate.
