It isn't in a frame. Bought at a thrift shop quite a while ago. I can't read the signature Salbeau Sulbeau is as close as I can come. I'm thinking 1885 due to the clothes they are wearing. Any help is always appreciated. Sight size is 18" by 16 " 0D049915-19BE-4861-99C7-C42354B4C13B.jpeg 00830777-5A9A-4040-AB1C-FD163F6AB1DB.jpeg D8E128FB-2163-478D-B6E4-2CC1D6F28153.jpeg 25F04493-2DE0-4B36-BBF2-6D40A06A270A.jpeg D8E128FB-2163-478D-B6E4-2CC1D6F28153.jpeg D8E128FB-2163-478D-B6E4-2CC1D6F28153.jpeg

My opinion: "older French scene", yes. Made in 1885, no. Looks like the signature was done with a gel pen, so I'd say 1985.

I see "Sabeau." Looks like a little souvenir drawing so I'm not sure artist would be traceable.

Thank you both. So the signature could not be painted with watercolors, only a gel pen looks like that? I do not know, just asking.

Place de Furstenberg. A popular scene. Even Dalí painted.

You are saying, not Claude Tabet but an artist who copies him, correct? Whoever does a great job of copying the watercolor. Thank you. I know I am less than even remedial in this, but learning. There is progress. Thank you.

not so much a copy.....as your artist has his own style of work.....
one made in spring, the other in fall, but from the same vantage point ...
both have their own separate charm...........

Not a copy but a work inspired by -- or shall we say overly inspired? -- by the work of another artist.

I marvel that the painting can be so well done and the signature is, well, as bad as my own handwriting, but I can't paint either! Thank you again.
