I have this pair of male and female birds I believe are Cardinals. They are 8" tall and heavy. The bottom is lightly scored. Any way to know what it is made of? It does not appear painted or glazed so I think the material it is made of is naturally that color and is a matte finish. I think they've been in my family for more than 50 yrs.
    Thanks for any info! IMG_6963.JPG IMG_6964.JPG IMG_6965.JPG IMG_6968.JPG

How do you identify resin? Are the shallow grooves on the bottom typical? Is resin kinda heavy? Thanks for the idea.

Certainly could be. I wrongly assumed the female had no crest. But looking up immature cardinals, they seem to have a crest too. Maybe molting.....

a young chicks crest is not yet formed......specially while they open up for food...it's not visible ...
