    The Script mark - 1926-1987.

This mark and its many variants was in use for more than 60 years.

It was printed in blue or black. Latterly, a gold version was placed on some Best Ware.

I believe your item is the base for a Carlton Ware lemon reamer. It also came in an orange color, for oranges and a green color for limes.
If you google Carlton Ware, lemon peel, several examples should pop up.

Yes, it's the bottom half of a lemon squeezer (UK term, presume 'reamer' is USA?) - I have its sister, an orange one.

I have both varieties - 2 wooden ones (1 smaller for lemons and a larger one for oranges, as described by OBB) and a glass one that includes a deep well around the business part that is also the right size for oranges. Over here, both types are called reamers.

I've a wooden reamer, a glass squeezer, like yours and a vintage orange and yellow Tupperware thingy!
