Carved Black Panther like figure on small wood stand - need some help please.

    This is another piece from last week's auction. It is 6 5/8" long & 1 1/2" from base to the top. I am having a hard time determining what the animal is carved from as the body feels slightly cool when held next to my cheek but the tail is slightly flexible. :confused::confused:

    I would appreciate any help on this one because other than it sort of looks like a Black Panther I do not have a clue. :facepalm::facepalm:

    To me the three of them all look carved from the same wood, after expanding the images, but it’s late and I’m only on my iPad….

    The first link says lacquered wood. I don't know if that's correct.
