Today I got this carved 'ceiling rose'. Pretty cheap, 5€. Carved wood, supposedly mid 19th century, Neoclassical in style. It's actually big, about 45cm.

I don't think it's a ceiling rose, maybe a decoration from a door or something? But it probably can be used as a ceiling rose lol
Any thoughts? Any way to tell if it's 1850s?

Darn that is beautiful and a bargain too.

    I LOVE it.

Hope someone can identify it for you.

Looks like it's got qot a crack on the back.
I don't know if it's actually 1850s or not. It certainly is old and it fits in with that time period. Enjoy!!

Yes but someone fixed it already with glue and those tacks, it's pretty stable now.
    Tank you!
