These are 2 small carved frogs and an owl I purchased at the thrift store. I think the frogs may be soap stone but please correct me if I am wrong. The owl I'm not sure what type of stone it is carved from.

Does anyone know the name of the type of stone the owl was carved from? I've searched around but couldn't find one like it but I'm sure it's out there. I have a couple of guesses on the type of stone from my searches but they would only be best guesses. Thanks in advance!

The owl is fiber optic glass, or sure looks like it. There's a mineral with a similar appearance - spar gypsum, and it might look like that dyed green.

Thanks for the info evelyb30! I never knew there was such a thing. I just did a search on fiber optic glass and fiber optic stone and I see a lot of different things made from it. I was thinking before it may have been made from green cats eye tourmaline. The dark green frog on the right in the 1st image I was finally able to determine that it was carved from green Nephrite Jade. Still not sure about the 1st frog. I'll have to research the owl some more. Thanks again!
