Featured carved wood bead necklaces

hi guys

found these 2 very long (55" + 45") beaded necklace thingamajigs

to be honest i see these type of things quite alot, but these seemed a little better for what ever reason

they were only cheap £1 each, so doesn't really matter

are they both carved wood, seems alot of work involved if they are

any age to them ?

any thoughts appreciated

they have no clasps, both open lengths

Such high expectations, and so little to give...
I love the black beads, but have no idea. They look like wood to me, and very nicely carved.
The other ones are wood, probably Chinese, but not Heidao nut beads. Those concentric circular designs are also seen on bone beads.
Heidao nuts can be any kind of nut or seed, intricately carved with little scenes of humans, animals, plants, like these:

 

The beads with the concentric circles look like wood to me. I don't remember seeing anything like them before, but the plain beads on the same necklace look like ordinary wood beads.

I've had beads like the black ones that were dyed wood that I bought as new beads in the 1980s of 90s, though the ones in this thread may be from a different place and time. I thought mine were possibly from Africa or an Eastern country.

 

1960s-1970s. Sorry; not that expensive?
