Featured Carved wood Indonesian scoop

    Thought something similar would be easy to find but to no avail. Came with a tag stating Indonesian in origin. What can you tell me about it? About 12" long. Some damage to the tip, edge, and front/center of the little figure. scoop.JPG scoop2.JPG scoop3.JPG scoop4.JPG scoop5.JPG

    The motif incised on the handle is I believe a Papua New Guinea device

    It is a beauty, Brad. Anund is right, it is Dayak, Kalimantan, Indonesia. It has age, could be antique.
    Scroll motifs are also very Dayak. Most of these are carved from ironwood.

    This is not ironwood. Much lighter, more porous wood.
