These measure 6.25" High, .75" Opening about 3.5" at widest. Insides are milk white, outsides off white to deeper taupe at bottom with applied silver decorations. One pontil is polished the other is rough. Are they scent bottles without stoppers? How old would they be and what country of origin.

Too big for scent bottles......Wonder if they might not be oil and vinegar bottles sans stoppers.

    Hi Bdigger,
I have scent bottles that are 14" tall. The Victorians were nuts back then.

The reason I think they are scent bottles is because the inside is worn about 1/2 inch down from the top. Any ideas about the age?

Vanity bottle might be a better term. They often held witch hazel.

    Probably Bohemian/Czech
    Cased glass with silver deposit.
I'd put the time period pre WWI
    This is only an opinion.

Just realized the bottles are only 6 1/4", maybe cologne instead of vanity bottles.

    Thank you CC.

One more question to a try to polish the silver?

I would not try to polish the silver.

These are not worn in the neck. The necks and stoppers were ground to fit for a tighter seal. In older items the bottle and the stopper would have marked/painted matching numbers so that the correct one could be matched up for the best fit.

I agree. Silver deposit is a very thin deposit of silver.
The silver will eventually wear off with polishing.
