Did anyone find out who the maker is? I've also recently purchased a lamp with this mark on the base.

My guess is that it would be helpful to see the lamp. Someone might recognize it by the style.

Just as a thought you might trying asking the Smithsonian. I don't remember what I was asking about but I wrote them once asking for information on an identifying mark and they wrote back. I don't think I had any luck, but you might.

Also castironcollector.com has a forum that might help. The only downside is that they block most major free email address domains from registering because they say they've had problem with spam.

I think what I have is a Salem brothers lamp! Not sure what the RY mark stands for and I dont have the sailboat mark on mine but the design of the lamp, the flowers and fenial, look like a Salem brothers lamp.

Maybe RY is the foundry mark?
But I don’t have a lot of knowledge on this topic.

Not all Salem Brothers lamps have the sailboat logo. I have not seen this particular mark on any examples that I spot checked.

It's not unheard of for lamp manufacturers to use bases and other parts purchased from other foundries and such.

It would be nice to see the pieces parts.
