Cast iron tazza urn mystery

Hi all, I have this urn that I know nothing about. I can't find anything like it with the eagle heads around the base.... It's approx 2ft across the top and about the same high... Very heavy and thick casting

 

If anybody can give any information at all would be much appreciated thanks

 

any foundry marks along the base or underneath???

 

I can't see any, I haven't cleaned it or anything. No marks I can see

 

I think it's from a rooftop somewhere..... Definitely best viewed from underneath. Very shallow bowl

 

It looks like a married piece to me.

 

What makes you think it is an urn? I've seen items similar that were filled with sand and used for people to put out their cigarette butts before entering a building (Years ago of course)

 

Most likely one of a pair I'm sure, I was hoping someone might recognise the 'crest' heads at the bottom. I'm not 100% sure they're eagles. I've seen Pegasus and Griffons that look similar

 

Could it be a finial?
