Cast iron teapot shaped lantern, caged glass. Age?

    Recent thrift purchase. How old is this? I have not cleaned it, my first thought was that it wasn't all that old (as recent as 1990s?) but had just been outside a long time. Cast iron I think and fairly heavy. Glass reminds me of Mexican caged glass pieces. Would I call this "caged glass"? Looks like it might have been painted or stained black at one time.

    The bottom unscrews so you can put a light inside. Has anyone seen similar? Curious about age.

    Sorry I have not touched it as far as cleaning and looks like it spent the last decade outside.

    Forgot to take a photo of the top, but the lid is removable with 3 screws.

    "Blown out glass" along with caged is another term I've seen used for years.
