I don't have any idea what's up with these, but thought I'd run them by you guys. Cups are marked with different numbers 9, 16 and 21 are the three I have. Saucers are unmarked. They're kind of fun, being anatomically correct and all, but does anyone know of a pattern, possibly arcopal blank used by someone else, like Z Gallerie?? Here's the closest image I could find, with no archeological location, just stock photos... Thanks IA! View attachment 168943 View attachment 168947
Sorry I couldn't turn them up. I tried google searches on "Tribal," "Native," and "Dancers" cups and saucers but didn't have any luck. I rather like them. Don
@scoutshouse You might try adding petroglyph to your search..... https://www.google.com/search?clien...6.756.10......0....1..gws-wiz-img.fKxaeEBRGWY
Thanks for trying, @dgbjwc And the suggestion, @Hollyblue It turned up this set by Alpico - French, but not glassware. APILCO FRANCE CUP & SAUCER YELLOW BACKGROUND PREHISTORIC FIGURES PETROGLYPH MAN $49.99/ea
only thing I'm finding remotely close is Federal Glass 'Tribal' https://www.worthpoint.com/inventory/search?query=federal+glass+tribal
Very fun, @TallCakes I just can't get Z-Gallerie out of my head! They were the mainstream mecca of 80s Post Modern style.
Sorry, I'm coming up empty. I thought maybe finding the cup without the design would help, the handle is pretty distinctive but couldn't find any. They are very cool looking, hope someone will be able to id them for you
Thanks, @cxgirl As blanks, they could have been older, but not with them nekkid dudes! This is interesting, though - I didn't know Joe Colombo made glassware... Their plastic taborets, lamps and containers have always been collectible, now I'll know what these are: Soups! And, this weirdness I won't pass next time I see one of these at the Goodwill - single sold for $70
I'll try in daylight tomorrow, @i need help Are you looking at those arcs? They're on the inside - the numbers are on the outside - and look sort of like a pair of squiggly false eyelashes, or: I just figure they're manufacturing marks - but I'd be curious to see what you think
