Ceramic Cat Potpourri

I've had this a while. The date on the bottom is 1980, I believe. There's a fair number displayed on Google Lens, but most identify it as a yarn holder or planter. If it's a yarn holder, how is a ball of yarn fit into that little opening? If it's a planter, it would leak with a plastic plugged hole in the bottom. I opted to call it a potpourri.
