    Love it! It's a late 1800s English syrup or molasses jug with pewter lid, probably Staffordshire. The number on the bottom is likely the pattern number. I don't know the maker, as there were many potteries operating during the period, and many of them made jugs. Some of our British board regulars may be able to offer more information.
