Featured Ceramic jar & lid

    My wife asked me to post this piece she bought at a garage sale about fifteen, maybe twenty years ago for a few bucks. Looks hand made and has a mark, but unable to read. Even if I could read it, I doubt it would mean anything to me.
    Guessing amateur but have been wrong before. All guesses and comments appreciated.

    I don't know who made it, but I don't think it is amateurish.
    It is called a Ginger Jar.

    Love the color and the design. Am I missing the mark somewhere? I just don't see it.

    I admit, it's tough to see. There is some other writing but it's illegible as well.
