Chalk Venus Statue

    Chalk with iron rods inside. Saw this today but did not buy it because I think it is recent/vintage poor cast/recast. What do you think?

    The head and face are so worn! It does not seem worthwhile to me.

    Plaster of Paris rather than chalk.

    Is not plaster hard? I can scratch this with my finger nail.

    Not all that hard, a fingernail is usually harder or as hard. PoP is 2 on the Mohs scale, fingernail is 2 to 2.5.

    But the main thing is chalk does not have reinforcing bars that you refer to.
