Chalkware or Plaster Statuette - Help with Origin?

    Any ideas on how old / where this might have come from? A thrift store find - stands just over 10" tall with the base. Not sure if you would call this chalkware or plaster? Or maybe it doesn't matter :) Many thanks again for any help.
