    It looks like cut glass, air twist stem and engraved, so a good quality piece. I would guess that SAM is the engravers initials.

    It is a beautiful glass. As rh said, a quality piece. I always love those air twist stems.

    It is a very beautiful piece, I've been looking all over for same one so I could get some sort of value of it but I can't find one anywhere. I love the air twist I think that is one of my favourite things about it.

    The usual suspects for the glass maker at that time would be Stuart, Webb, Nazeing someone like that. There was also a short lived company called Watford Glass who did good cutting. I strongly suspect this started as an airtwist stem blank, then got cut and engraved. Caithness often sign like that.
