Any thoughts as to origin or dating, or just generic?
    thank you for looking.

1910s into 20s, probably brass, but clean it gently, nice Bohemian glass stone, and the enamelled flowers are forget me nots, which have significance. Might be Bohemian in origin.

Yes it is cheery, brightens a dark winter day.:)
I agree, 1910s and most likely brass. The glass stone could be Bohemian, not sure the brooch is though. Could be German, they were major importers of Bohemian glass beads and stones.

Sunshine cloth, gently. If you've not got one, an old tothbrush with a bit of spray window cleaner, used carefully will get crud off. Probably worth doing that anyway, then the Sunshine on the metal.

Those blue flowers are forget-me-nots or close enough. The Czechs made a pile of similar items for export, and those blue flowers were good sellers in the UK. I'd lay odds it's pre-WWI since it wouldn't have been exported during the War and bar brooches were hot circa 1895-1915 give or take. Could be 20s too, or even 1930s if it was sent to America; the amber colored items were big here in the 30s.
