I can not get to the back of this chest of drawers due to lack of space, but pic 3 is view of back from the front!

I think it's a bit earlier than the one in that link, and nicer. Lovely fat bun feet. 1860s ish. I'd like to see the top.

I noticed the top was not as thick after I posted, but could not really tell about the feet due to them being hidden in the carpet. There was one that said it was Kent Coffey? But there was such a variation in the designs I figured he must be someone other than the maker. Just gotta keep scrubbin'...

This looks more like it, but not sure about the feet.

It's in the UK, so highly unlikely to be a US maker. This looks to me to be a typically nice little mid 19th chest of drawers. It will be very difficult to pin it down to a specific maker.

I agree with OBB, I see lots of these in U.K. auctions and antique shops.

Quite common but practical and they still sell well.
    Stained Pine.
A good test for Pine , your thumb nail should be able to penetrate the soft wood, inside the drawers.
Briwax is the only TLC they need.

I really like these, they're honest, simple and useful. Yeah, wipe off and a bit of wax - I sometime use Scratch Cover if needed. About £100 to £200 here.

It is NOT mahogany on pine veneer. It is stained pine, as @daveydempsey quite rightly says.

Yup, lever. You get two, three and four. Don't think I've seen five on furniture.

    Spot on davey.

I don't get why you have been treated this way on any of the threads you have posted on.

To me it appears that it is veneered, at least in some areas. What kind of wood, I don't know, as I've never been good at wood ID.

First picture look at the grain it is going up and down.
The other two pictures speak for themselves.

Oh Boy, i dunno, i know just enough about english furniture to get me in trouble!
I can see why they sell well over there, good construction, clean lines, almost Biedermeier type look.
Giotto got banned on this thread, how come? What are you guys up to over here! :hilarious:
