She's not the belle of the ball but I liked her from the moment I saw her.

We went to pick up part of an estate from a elderly woman whom sold her house. I saw this cabinet when we went inside and hoped she was consigning it.
Nope. The man who bought the house was keeping it.

A few weeks later the woman called back because the man changed his mind so we went and picked it and a few other pieces up.

Id shown the SO who surprisingly liked it as well.
I bid on it and won (yay!)

Excuse the mess in the pictures, were still moving in the new house

In the first picture I hadn't inserted the 2 shelves yet.

I've got a estimate in my head on its age, but what do yall think?

Pic is so dark, can't tell much. Appears to be teens-twenties.

The decorations look applied, manufactured, I think teens too.

Yeah, I tried to get a better picture this afternoon but the light wasn't right. I'll try again Sunday.

My initial thought was late teens through the 20s as well, my boss said late 1800s through the early 1900s, but it didn't look right to me.

Once I got it home and unwrapped I looked up the partial stickered name and it is from a company that started in 1914, 1916, or 1918.
I'm pretty sure it was 1916 though.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

SeaGoat, I hope you can show a photo after you have it moved to where you want it and have filled it.

I agree. The details and carving really don't show on the first pic. It would be nice to see it in all its glory.

Im trying to get one. Seems like a simple enough task lol

Ive been working on multiple estates in downtown Atlanta and with the seasons changing Im leaving before sunrise and getting home after the sun sets

Cool -- I'm afraid that if I worked at an auction house I'd spend my entire salary right there!

Are you seeing anything neat coming through the doors?

Theres ALWAYS something neat coming through. I spend a penny or two, but some of the people have deep pockets and Ive learned to become more selective about what I bring home.

Working at the estate sales are harder because you are around the stuff a couple weeks vs a couple days so it really starts talking to you.
Plus you get the first dibs on items so you get to see the cream of the crop (but youll also pay top dollar)
