China doll head, how old?

    Hi! Difficult to tell. Does that brown smudge actually say something?

    My guestimate is that it's a reproduction head. Perhaps done by a home doll maker.

    Very odd spot to be marked, if it is.

    I reminds me of a repro that I sold several months ago, but I can't think of the name of the doll maker right now.

    OMGoodness Aquitane! You did that so well!

    I don't know of any repros that are marked with an impressed Germany.

    The mark certainly looks old. The # is probably a mold #.

    It might even be a 7/0 a size number.

    Old or repro though, she doesn't have very much going for her in the way of detail.
