Chinese Blue & White Charger

    Hi all

    Went to my local charity shop today. In the car park outside in the rain was a plastic dog bed, with this charger dumped inside. Its pretty beat up, but the manager was happy to take £2 for it.

    I've not seen the mark before, a Chinese character inside double rings. It appears to have some age, with kiln grit, iron spots and some spur marks.

    At some point the entire piece has been broken and repaired. If it's not worth reselling I'm happy using it as a fruit bowl as I consume an awful lot of bananas.

    Approx 38cm diameter, 7cm height.

    I think you've got yourself an old bit of porcelain there mate!

    Superficially it has all the signs of Kraak porcelain ware, Ming dynasty .. however, due to weight of the potting and a few other details I believe this to be a good 19thc Japanese copy.

    Whatever it is, good score!
