Hi folks, from another local auction lot.

guessing its got to be chinese, was a bit disappointed at the pick up, as its not as old as i thought it looked, but had no pic of the base in auction pics

the brown Majolica google suggests as minton, but unmarked

the other interesting one is japanese and hideous :)

The blue an' white does seem Chinese...a flask of some kind, perhaps wine or other beverage. I like it!
The 'hideous' vase may surprise you...is it marked?

wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the clash of colours, the gilding is outer glaze so might be able to tidy that up

I like the Art Nouveau shape. This could be the one that brings some nice money.

surprisingly the best of the bunch possibly Aj. Might photo better with a darker background. Great that the handles are damage free as well, those buggers are usually broken at places

I can see why you bought the blue n white. Hand painted and the banana leaves draw you in.

I'm surprised at how plain the liberty mark is. I would have expected gold leaf and diamond dust. I usually put anything down again if it says Nippon on the base. Next. Who knows, I may have rejected several liberty pieces in my life time. Now we know...

Are we sure about the L & Co being Liberty? That said, whichever is the money-maker, I'd take the brown one. Not sure who made it. But I like the scene in a cartouche on a rather simple pot. So different from seeing that type of decoration on Wedgwood and painted on cabinet plates, etc.

Agreed, Kent...doubly so for the shape of the cartouche. Very elegant, overall!
