Chinese bowl

Jumble sale buy. 5 and a half inches diameter, 3 inches deep. It reminds me of the cherry blossom design you find on ginger jars. It has some spot blemishes inside and it’s nice thin porcelain. Is it 20th Century or older? Some older pieces do look quite modern and I really can’t tell. Thanks for looking.

According to that site the mark reads "Made in the Kangxi Period of the Qing Dynasty"

Thanks for finding that Marote. Years ago I bought a few pieces from a flea market, they were hand painted and looked really clean and white, very surprised to be told from the auction house they had been made in the 1700s.

It does! I can’t get it to translate the 3 characters below though.

 

It’s going to be put in with the ginger jar collection.

 

The site with the vase shows that the mark should be read top to bottom and from right to left:
大清康熙年制

 

interesting link because of the mark I assumed this was later, but the link indicates this is period just lower quality.
