Grabbed this candle stick holder in Altrincham earlier today. Went for a walk round Bowdon afterwards. A built up area but so beautiful. Last time I was there there was a two bed apartment for sale so I looked it up. Asking price £525,000. Don't think I'll be making an offer any time soon. I also saw some Royal Worcester Plates in a shop but asking price was too high for my liking. Might be okay for a collector with lots of spare cash I guess. I struggled to get decent photos as they were in direct sunlight.

I don't understand where the cables go unless they had them converted.

Oooh okay. The Greek key pattern in the middle and the concentric curved lines above it made me think Chinese. Also the flowers. Chrysanthemums I think.

Soooo. Chinoise then? I've seen gold on Chinese stuff before. My famille rose has gold accents.

Nah. Would be uploading lovely photos of it now if it was. £65 a piece for the stack of three and £50 for the ducky plate.

It's definitely modern. Transfer ware more than likely. The pair in the auction did quite well but they have electric candles in it would seem and light shades. And it's a pair. They also came from some posh nobs abode. I have some Chinese wooden stands a bought for a quid each but none of them fit. Phoooey!

AHH. I think the wooden base is part of the upgrade to electric candle wax. Think mine might be how they came before the fettling

The Invaluable auction was in 2020 so it's at least 5 years old. It's a start.
