Hi all. chinesepair1.jpg chinesepair2.jpg chinesepair3.jpg chinesepair4.jpg We have these 2 black figurines. About 12" high. I don't have them with me, but I've been told they don't think it's wood. Feels like a very solid, hard, plastic or resin. Not sure. Can't find markings and they're in the stands really tight. We're afraid to force it. Thanks for any help at all.

Could these be Bakelite? I found a couple of others and that's what they're calling it.

Thanks so much for the article. Very interesting. I've seen others called dark cherry Bakelite. Is it more likely that than Faturan? Since that would be more amber than purple? Thanks again.
