Looking for some help to ID this figurine. This guy is 20" tall and weighs nearly 6 pounds. Is the material cellulose? And I haven't been able to find anything related to what looks like an "HB" mark on the bottom.

    Thanks in advance as always!

It is some variety of synthetic polymer, which is a fancy way of saying some kind of plastic, commonly & generically called 'resin'. It is not Celluloid, if that is what you meant, but a later material, used a lot by the Chinese to mimic ivory.

Might represent the Water Demon who accompanied the Monkey King and Tripitaka in the Buddhist tales.

There's an easy test you can do. Heat a needle, and if the tip goes in, it's not ivory.

The close up picture does not show the telltale lines that appear in ivory, Looks like resin,

Does anyone know anyone that is interested in buying it. I also have another but I know 100% that's not ivory.

Is that bad? I am moved to put a hot needle through a lot of things but have restrained myself so far.

Yes I'll take one. And one more thing wouldn't a red hot needle penetrate resin? Or"plastic"
