If u aren’t familiar with China’s Terra Cotta Army, google it, it is what I think of as the most spectacular archaeological discovery since King Tut’s Tomb.

I saw some of the Terra Cotta Army at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta a few years ago. Totally awesome. Each one is an individual with a different face and clothing. I can't believe how much effort went into it.

    Hi,
I took 30 minutes to examine the marks on the bottom underside of the Chinese man.
In addition to the marks you've noted, there are several other, barely legible, "mystery" marks.
Next to the white spot (lower right corner), there appears to be a lantern and letter n with "curled legs." Upside down letter U ? There are several other letters and numerals.
    It's an interesting piece.
    Good Luck solving the puzzle.

15080506014352.jpg 15082406321510.jpg ] have researched as much about terracotta army figures but can't find anything like it and none have markings on bottom thanks whatmamahad for looking at base gave it a clean was quite dirty and cant see anything new

I sent it to a chinese friend of mine who responded with mark on bottom means
    'Long term peace'
17 is the year, not sure of which century it is
the symbols are actually the name of China's capital city before Beijing was introduced.
she said Chinese were very proud of their stone, which they carve these symbols into. Some stone is worth a bit
    still researching any
