    Hi Antiquers

I am new here so try and be kind to me

I bought two oriental dishes from my local charity shop and thought they look interesting and would give me the chance to do some research on them. I have searched and searched the WWW to no avail so I thought I would try this wonderful forum. I have studied them and now not sure they are antique, they could of been made yesterday! My gut feeling is that they are Japanese but could be Chinese?
I have attached two pictures in the hope that someone may be able to identify them and what age they might be. The dishes measure appox. 13cm diameter.
Thank you in advance for any pointers to where I can find further information.
    With best regards

    Welcome, Gary.
You are right, Japanese. They are nice, but fairly recent. Lovely prunus blossom shape. Others may know the mark.

    Thanks Aquitaine
Yes nice colouring but transfer printed with hand spot colouring in the middle. Don't think they are worth much but pretty display dishes.
    With best regards

Absolutely, the most important thing is that you enjoy them.
I have bowls with the same pattern. I have been trying to think back to when I bought mine, I think it was in the 1980s. They were new then.

I think it was in the 1980s.
Well at least I could call them "just vintage" :joyful:
    Thanks again

I think I have posted this in the wrong place so I am also copying the question over to the porcelain forum page.
I will soon get used to navigating around this site. I've got most of the answers just the backstamp to go. :joyful:

@Gary Wright , the centre of the dish makes a beautiful avatar picture. Really nice.
