Google Lens tells me this carving is in soapstone and it is Guanyin, Goddess of Mercy and possibly from the Qing Dynasty (19th century).
Is this figure really 19th century? it has one or two chips and the way in which the base is chiseled seems quite crude. However I know nothing about this subject other than this figure has been in my loft for many year since the passing of my grand parents. It weighs 4 kg and stands 13 inches high. Any information please.

I think it is. This colour combination in soapstone was used a lot at the time, and the wear looks good to me.
Not unusual for late Qing dynasty soapstone carvings

I wonder though, is this a break, on the left:

No its not a break its the edge of the Goddesses cloak or shawl. An unfortunate positioning of the photo gives impression of break but it isnt.
