Happy Weekend Everybody! I am confused again (I know what's new!). I've got this little dish that has what looks like a Chinese stamp on the back but also what look like decorator numbers. Anybody have a clue to get me started? Thanks much!

Thanks, janetpjohn. I thought I had seen somewhere that these pseudo Chinese seals existed but couldn't remember where or the exact terms. Thanks very much!

    Thank you for posting that.

Explains why I thought the dish looked English.

dgb - what it s the size?
It could be a butter pat or cup plate.

Oh, I'm sorry - I try never to forget to include the size. It measures 5 1/2" across and about 3/4" deep. I'm wondering if it might have been a tea bowl.

Too shallow by far for a tea bowl. Underplate, maybe - and I agree it's British.

I think this is it: Pekin by Beech & Hancock.
