I bought this really cool looking Chinese jewelry box
    12" x 7" x 6"
Hoping to find out what type of wood and possibly age?
It looks exactly like some that are labeled George Zee Company.
Missing three tiny brass brads on the top. I'm sure i can find replacements.

It’s cool looking and attractive. But I would think it’s a fairly new thing. Maybe ‘cheaper’ wood used that has been stained/coloured.

    I don't know for sure but I know it's not antique. I was thinking 1950s 60s.

I also don’t know. But it’s a nice looking box. And I do think the overall quality looks better than many other examples. Personally I don’t think it’s as old as the 50’s-60’s. I would still guess much newer (but my knowledge is very limited)

Thought I had replied to this earlier....??? Wood appears to be some type of mahogany, though you sometimes see them marketed as rosewood. See similar boxes fairly frequently and do not think them to be all that old. Late 20th century. Older ones are more inticate and more embellished. If you search Chinese brass mahogany box, you will see many examples.

Just realized that I have a similar, albeit smaller, box. Picked this up sometime in the last year at a thrift store. Pretty sure it was $5 or less.
