Hello antiquers! We were just wondering about the pattern for this glass piece! Thank you in advance for the help, and Happy Holidays! DSC_1293.jpg

Not I, but someone will know. These were used all over the place for ice cream or sherbet, (often with a paper lining), and accompanied by an ice cream spoon, which more often than not, had a twisted handle, and was about an inch longer than a demitasse spoon. Not that any one believes me...

The Bellevue Stratford Hotel had these in heavy silver-soldered pieces, on a paper doily-covered liner. The local drugstore-with-counter had yours.

    Back in the day...

I don't know the pattern name, but I can remember some ice cream shops in NY using something quite similar for treats.
    :)

    Hi,
American Sweetheart for sure. Used to sell plenty of these back in the 20002/2005 years. There were several glass companies selling these in the 1940s. So many were broken that the paper companies used to sell heavy cardboard liners for them.

I have 30 assorted sherbet dishes in sterling, all packed away in the attic. The glass inserts are assorted, as well, most of them clear with various patterns, but some in pale colors, as well. I actually used to use them for dinner parties. Ah... Long ago & far away!
