The links are encouraging, but I would not call your example "controlled bubbles". If you look at he bowl in your second link you will see that there are large bubbles that occur in a regular pattern. Those are controlled bubbles. I am not seeing a pattern to the bubbles in your piece.

Can't comment on the age except to say that, by golly, they are of a type.

Glass that has a lot of small bubbles is sometimes called "seedy" (as in "full of seeds"), but I can't imagine that word helping in a listing.

Definite, MOS. Not even close to Murano or Erickson. .

The ebay one has controlled large bubbles with a few thousand random little ones.

But what's your opinion on those asking prices? To me they seem completely out of line. Some of the comments, such as, "an anonymous Italian maker" remind me of Barnum and Bailey. I'm revising my opinion of Amazon.

I wonder if it's the same seller in both links. Did you read the review on Amazon?

3.0 out of 5 starsSo what is the story on the history?

There are two of these exact bowls on e-bay, one for about ten dollars, and one for about $100. The higher priced one uses your description, and the cheaper one says mid-century Mexican blown glass. I have one like this and am trying to research it. Where was it made? Are we sure it isn't Swedish glass?

SIS, IMHO, it's questionable on all comparables. But I'm no expert on controlled bubbles. I did get involved with them about 10 years ago when selling a few pieces. One was Murano and the other Erickson (SP?)

As far as I know Amazon is offering stuff just like ebay. No policing. And it appears to be the same at Busacca in S.F. That piece is not theirs, but a consignment. I do believe they are a well established company, and most likely very honest. But again, IMHO, all their reviews seem to be paid for advertisements.

I think!!!!!!!!!!!! Kard's bowl is not very rare, but just happens to have several very similar with exceptionally high asking prices. It would be really great if a sold one with decent authenticity could be found, preferably in the multiple hundreds.
