Clear glass divided plate, measures 10 3/4" in diameter. When I first saw i the edge reminded me of Candlewick or Lariat, but have found no matches so far.

It looks like a veggies and dip serving plate from the 1650-70 top me. A gistware type item.

    Hi George -
Is it wine time where you are?;)
    Maybe "1950s-70s"
    Possibly "giftware"

If the sun is not over the yard arm where you are standing change positions.
I am dateing by apparent usage. It could be newer. I would expect it to have originally had a dip cup.

But you dated it to 1650, might be just a tad too early for dip.

Thanks. Now we know it is Hazel Atlas using the same cup as the beads and ribs snack tray. I thought maybe the edge was the same as the Orchard Crystal but the rest did not look right to me. Should have suggested a photo from a different angle.

Great fine Laura! This is a bit spooky because yesterday during that great 7th game of the World Series, I was researching three 1940s-1950s snack sets (8 place servings each). Then here this morning up popped your great find of this P-D snack set plate from the same time period.

Hmmm.... Interesting. One of the snack sets (came down from my mother) is Hazel Atlas' "Beads & Ribs" (AKA "Ball & Ribbed" and on replacements.com Hazel Atlas "ATC3") My mother had 8 place settings of trays and cups (used at bridge parties) andddd then had 12 more cups that she used as punch cups for informal gatherings. Do you think Hazel Atlas and Pitman-Dreitzer & Co had any connection with each other? I did know HA sold them under the brand Orchard Crystal.

BTW, stumbled on the following site while researching snack sets yesterday. The pictures certainly brought back memories of the 1950s trying to balance one of these snack trays with cup on my knee. :nailbiting:

    Hi,
When my MIL moved down here 10 years ago, she had a huge yard sale. Out popped 45 matching snack sets. She used them a lot but always at engagement parties. She had no time for paper plates and plastic cups. She said who is going to buy these, no one has party stuff anymore. Well a dealer friend of mine was there and bought all 9 boxes of the set. I did not tell her that I made a deal with him that if he bought all of them from her I would give him a REAL discount on what he really wanted. 100 pieces of Fostoria American pattern went to him for 5 bucks each. He made out, she was thrilled and so was I. The only snack sets I saved where 20 pieces with marijuana leaves on them. They were the 50s and I do not know if someone designed them on purpose or it was an accident. I got 100 bucks for each set.

P-D was a wholes distributor similar to Butler Bros and handled many lines.

Crazy snack tray lady - ROCKS how fun. Thanks for that, ladybranch!

    Sweet, Greg
I only wish I'd thought of doing this for my mom - she just couldn't accept her beloved "coronation" silver plate wasn't worth much at all :)
