I usually ignore unmarked, non-descript paperweights, but this one was different. As I fondled its surface, I noticed a distinct lip around the top. In addition, the base is scarred from use and the pontil scar, though polished, is irregular.

This made me think that it possibly could be from a time when paperweights were more manually worked rather than the highly polished and perfect models of today, or it could just be a learner's piece, and the variations due to lack of skill.

It is 3 1/2 inches tall. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Maybe someone just testing out "the bubbles" scene and practicing???
