    This bottle is from c.1936 & the bottle itself was made by DeVilbiss. It is actually a perfume & powder combo piece. There is a very small glass bottle in the lid & then the glass bottom holds the powder.

    There is a small metal piece that is attached to the "Plaskon" cover. It might have been some type of lapel pin originally because you can see the tiny metal stub inside the lid.

    I have been unsuccessful in finding anything like this in my searches & am hoping someone else is more successful.

    DeVilbiss did this type of custom work for other organizations. I have seen bottles that were done for a yachting group & for various department stores.

    I don't see the Greek alphabet. Can you read any of the (what appear to be) letters at the bottom?

    Well done! That insignia has everything but the kitchen sink. Can't find a translation of the motto. There was a national convention in 1936. Here's a photograph of the 1938 convention and it looks like spouses of fraternity officers attended. Perhaps it was a gift to them.

    @komokwa - Thank you so much!! :happy::kiss:

    @Debora - I was thinking either spouses or or the "little sisters" which were girlfriends of the brothers. :happy::happy:

    Did they say where the national convention was held?

    I saw that the organization was founded at Miami University in Oxford Ohio so it is possible that they would have been familiar with the DeVilbiss Co. which was in Toledo Ohio.

    The 1936 convention was held at Penn State. And Phi Kappa Tau national headquarters was in Oxford, Ohio so makes sense turning to a local vendor. Could have been a sweetheart gift but would have been a rather expensive one.

    According to a seller on Ebay:
    "ΑΕΙΟΣ ΝΙΚΗΝ ΕΣΤΙΗΤΗΝ," which is Greek for "Ever seeking victory for the hearth"

    The motto on the examples above looks a bit odd because it is written in lower case Greek. This is easier to make out:

    I'm getting inconsistent results from IM Translator, ranging from absolute gobbledegreek to something along the lines of The Winner is Worthy/Deserving.
