Coin purse, not sure.....

    Is this some kind of coin purse? It’s very old.

    Called a mesh purse, sometimes silver plated but more often only the frame would be plated. May have marks on the inside of the frame.

    Very old means different things to different people.;) I think this one dates from ca 1910. With a short chain like that, it would have been worn around the wrist with evening wear. To a dance for instance.
    These purses were fashionable from the late 19th century until the 1930s.
