Bought this very large watercolor from a dealer friend of mine recently for $50.00. He actually had 4 of them but liked this one best. All were dated late 60s except this one which is dated 1973. This one was also the only one with a title. Signature looks like G. Puckeite (or maybe Huckeite). Think professionally done but have found zero information. Can any of you expert searchers find anything?

Might be a stretch, but I wonder if the "i" is the artist's way of depicting the first "t" in a double "tt"

There are many surnames of Puckette, but none come up for Puckeite in whitepages.com. Actually, just a straight up Google search for Puckeite only has two pages of entries, which is very unusual. And only a small number of listings seem to be the spelling of a surname.

I really like the painting. Definitely created by someone who's got a firm grasp of the medium. It's fresh and there are no areas that have been overworked. Watercolor is so unforgiving. One oops, and you may as well start over.

J Puckette looks right, if it's not Huckette.

Most likely a local artist who did this type of work. It's nicely done but couldn't find anything online either.
