IMG_7943.jpeg IMG_7942.jpeg IMG_7941.jpeg Hi all, thinking of buy both these paintings that I like, but thought I will ask for opinions first. Not much to go (sorry) and I could only take a few quick photos. The homestead is what looks to be a palette knife painting. It’s in an older frame (frame looks 50- 60’s or so to me) Signed “Green’ (I think) and maybe date. Size maybe 30x35cm. On the back there’s a lot or auction number and the words: Old Homestead,Mr Worcester.

The watercolour painting I thought was nicely done. It’s in an newer frame (maybe 80’s) and farmed behind glass. The painting itself looks older to me than the frame. It’s larger maybe 50x40cm. It’s half blocked by furniture. But I think it might be signed. Thank you for any comments and keep well

First painting is by South African artist William Green, and Worchester may refer to area near Cape Town.

JMHO the watercolour looks unfinished to me, especially in terms of the ships.

Thanks. Appreciate that. I did consider William Green but I didn’t match the signature (should have done a better job at looking)

Like 'em both. If they give you pleasure (and you can afford it), no reason not to own.

I like the watercolour. Reminds me of paintings of fishing boats on the beach at Scheveningen by Dutch painter HW Mesdag.

The first one is nice quality too. The subject of the watercolour is more attractive, but the first one looks to be painted with a more experienced hand.
