Copper Bowl

    massproduced would-be cloisonné rice bowls made in China or India. value for real collectors - none.

    which doesn't mean that they can't come in handy for small items like coins etc.. they are readily available since the late 60s and 70s when all those Asia shops opened for the Hippies and those funny orange-clad homecomers from Poona. :hilarious:

    It is typical Chinese cloisonné, enamel on brass.
    It is certainly not a top piece, but simply attractive. Keeping coins in it can damage the enamel.
    The flowers are peonies, which symbolize longevity, happiness, and timeless beauty.

    Chinese cloisonné has been traded to the West for several centuries, and you will find it in all the old museum collections.
    There is no special connection with the Hippie era. And none at all with Poona, a town in India, which became famous when it became the site of the headquarters of a certain spiritual movement in 1974, just after the Hippie era.

    and please don't wash with anything stronger than lukewarm water or your "enamel" may wash off.
