I wish all the members here happy holidays!

Although this a book illustration, I think this is a real art piece, so I put it on this forum. It is designed by Maerten de Vos (invent.) and engraved van Jan Collaert (sculp.) II, both famous artists from the late 16th century in Antwerp.

This is the text under the engraving:

ET PEPERIT FILIVM SVVM PRIMOGENITVM, ET PANNIS EVM INVOLVIT, ET RECLINAVIT EVM IN PRÆSEPIO. LVC. II.
"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger. (Luke II)"

The engraving comes from a book called "Den Schadt der Catholycke Sermoonen (1597)" (Treasure of Catholic Sermons) written by Martinus Baccius.

I made my Christmas card this year with this engraving as basis.
